A Pard Card provides Lafayette students, faculty, and staff with access to buildings and dining transactions. Ultimately, users will be able to leverage their personal electronic devices for secure building access and transactions.

When and how do I receive my Pard Card?

First-year students and new employees: Once you have received your Lafayette College credentials, please submit your photo to be displayed on your Pard Card. Please review the photo guidelines.

The timeline for card distribution is expected to be completed by the end of August.

STUDENTS:

Residence Life will distribute Pard Cards to students during room key pickup.

EMPLOYEES:

Faculty and staff will pick up their new ID cards at the College Store. To expedite the process, each department will have a scheduled pickup window. Please be patient and allow a few minutes to activate your new card. After receiving their new ID card, each employee will receive a coupon for 25% off an item at the College Store. Fobs will remain active until the new ID card has been activated.

How do I update information on my Pard Card?

Name information on the Pard Card comes from the Banner Self Service and needs to be updated there. To use your preferred first name on your PardCard, follow the instructions on the Preferred First Name Policy webpage.

Why do I have a negative balance on my Pard Card?

A negative balance can occur if you make a transaction when a retail device is offline. When the device comes back online and the transaction is posted, you will see a negative balance if there are not enough funds in your account to cover the transaction.

I used my credit card at a participating retail location when I meant to use my Pard Card. What can I do to correct my payment source?

Return to the location of the sale and ask the store to issue a credit card refund, then process the transaction against your Pard Card.

My Pard Card was lost or stolen. How can I get a replacement card?

If a Pard Card is lost or stolen during business hours, please visit the College Store for a replacement. There is a $25 fee for replacement Pard Cards. 

If a Pard Card is lost or stolen outside of business hours:

Students:

Students can visit Public Safety dispatch to have a replacement Pard Card issued and will be billed $25 on the next business day. 

Faculty and Staff:

Faculty and staff should visit the College Store on the next business day for a replacement Pard Card. The $25 fee for the replacement Pard Card will be billed on site.

How can I request additional door access privileges on my Pard Card?

Students:

Access to residences is managed by the Office of Residential Life (reslife@lafayette.edu). Additional requests should be submitted by a supervisor, department head, head coach, etc. via email to: idoffice@lafayette.edu

Faculty and staff:

The department head should submit a request via email to: idoffice@lafayette.edu

Can I hang my card from a lanyard?

Holes cannot be punched in any part of the card. Plastic ID holders attached to a keychain or lanyard are available for purchase at the College Store.

If my Pard Card is attached to my phone, and I charge it wirelessly, will it impact my card?

Yes. The card must be removed prior to charging or it will be demagnetized and stop working.
